Radnor Elementary's SMART Run 5K, April 27Celebrate fitness with family and friends and raise funds for new technology and other educational needs at RES at the 5th Annual SMART Run 5K fundraiser on Sun., April 27. Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. at RES. The race also features a 1-mile Fun Run. Race day events include a DJ, Kids Fun Zone and raffles for camps, classes and gift certificates from a variety of local fitness clubs and merchants. Class of 2014 Prom: Tickets for the senior prom, May 16 from 7:30-11:30 p.m. at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ are $85.00 per person and will be sold at all lunches from April 28-May 2. May 2 is the last day to purchase a ticket for the prom. Payment can be made in the form of a check, made payable to "RHS Class of 2014" or cash.

Yearbook news for the Class of 2014:The yearbook staff will continue to accept Baby Pics through the end of March. Orders can be sent to Jeanne Lynam and photos should be attached as JPEGs. Checks should be sent to Jeanne Lynam and made out to Josten’s. The costs are: full page, $300.00; half page, $160.00; quarter page; $85.00; eighth page; $50.00.Yearbooks are also still available for purchase, but there is a limited number available. The yearbooks are preordered and no further ordering can be done. If you wish to order a book for your senior, do it soon! They are going fast.

The Radnor High School Scholarship Fund wants to make sure you are aware of our fund and how it can assist Radnor High School graduates. Our scholarship fund was founded in 1966 as a nonprofit community program to provide grants - not loans - to deserving Radnor graduates for post-high school education in universities, colleges and specialty schools. A Note from the Health Office As stated in the Student Handbook,students are notto carry medication in their lunch bags, backpacks, etc. This includes both prescribed and over the counter medicines (Tylenol, Advil, etc.). If the student needs to take any medication during the school day, that medicine must be turned over to the School Nurse. Students may then make arrangements to take the prescribed dosages in the Nurse’s Office (x3558) with the consent of a parent.

SAT Information/Deadlines: For the May 3 test date, LATE registration deadline is April 18 (mail) and April 21 (phone/online). May 9 is the REGULAR deadline for the June 7 SAT's. Radnor High School is a test center for the June 7 test. Registering early is highly encouraged as ETS will not guarantee your school as a test center. The school code for Radnor High School is 394133 and the test center code is 39-612. Scores will not be reported to Radnor High School if the student does not include the Radnor CEEB code (394133). You may register here. Students may stop into the guidance office to print out admission tickets if they are unable to print them elsewhere.
Transcript Fees for Seniors:Any seniors with outstanding transcript fees will have their cap and gown withheld. Notices have been given to students and/or sent home requesting immediate payment. If you are not sure you owe money, please check your Naviance account and/or stop into the guidance office for your current balance. Please make your check payable to "Radnor High School" and drop it off to guidance.

2014-15 Course Requests: All teacher recommendations and student elective selections are available for your review in HAC. Course requests are listed under student's current schedules. Please contact your child's guidance counselor with any questions. The deadline to make changes if Fri., June 27 by 3 p.m. College Decision Letters for the Class of 2014: Please continue to bring in hard copies of all college decision letters to the guidance office so we may update your active applications college page on Naviance. If you are unable to make a copy, we'll make a copy for you. You may also email a PDF of the college decision letter with accepted, denied, waitlisted or deferred decisions to your guidance counselor. If you are receiving college decision information through a web portal, please take a screen shot of the college decision and email it to your guidance counselor.
College Scholarship Letters for the Class of 2014: Please bring in hard copies of your college scholarship letters and all outside scholarships to the guidance office (regardless if you decide to accept it). If you are unable to copy your letter, we will make a copy for you. You may also email PDFs of the letters to your guidance counselor. Seniors must turn in college scholarship letters by the Thu., April 17 deadline for your scholarship to be published in the 2014 Graduation Program Book. If you do not wish to have your scholarships published in the 2014 Graduation Program Book, please still bring in your letters to the guidance office and notify us of your preference.
Pre-Administration Sessions for AP Exams: Students who have signed up to take an AP exam in May must attend a pre-administration session in April. Pre-administration sessions are offered on Wed., April 23 at 2:45 p.m. or Thu., April 24 at 7 a.m. Students should report to the auditorium and only need to attend one session. Any questions should be directed to Mr. Lemon or Mrs. Wess in guidance. Advanced Placement tests will be administered from Mon., May 5 to Fri., May 16 at Radnor High School.
The Main Line College Fair hosted by Villanova University at The Pavilion is on Tue., April 29 from 6:30-9 p.m. For over three decades, Villanova University, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Association of College Admission Counseling (PACAC), has hosted the Main Line College Fair with nearly 300 colleges in attendance. Sophomores and juniors are encouraged to attend.
Juniors Applying for Summer Programs/Seniors Applying for College Scholarships Seniors please be sure to check Naviancefor all scholarship information. Scholarship information is added onto the scholarship list on a daily basis. Check out the criteria to see if you qualify and then apply! Just like college applications, scholarships have deadline dates. If a transcript is required for your scholarship application, please request a transcript through your Family Connection page. Click on the Colleges tab, then under Resources click on Transcripts then click on the link "Request transcript for scholarships or athletics." The $3.00 per transcript fee applies to these requests. Checks are acceptable forms of payment and made payable to Radnor High School. Please turn in your payments to the guidance office the day after your request. Freshmen or sophomores who would like to request an official transcript, please email your guidance counselor or stop into the guidance office. Check out the Job Board located outside the guidance office suite for summer employment opportunities. Working papers are available in the main and/or guidance office.
Our final PTSA meeting of the school year will be held on Wednesday evening, May 14.The business portion of the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the library. We will be having elections of the PTSA Executive Board for the 2014-15 school year, discuss committee activities and updates, and hear from Mark Schellenger all that is happening within the school. We will then go to the auditorium at 7 p.m. for the presentation by Holcomb Prevention. Representatives from Holcomb Prevention will offer two presentations on the topic of alcohol abuse: Power of Parents and Those Who Host Lose the Most, followed by Q&A. Spread the word. We hope to see many of you there.
