RMS Remembers Children Youth Holiday Gift Drive - Once again, RMS will collect gifts to be given to less fortunate children through the Delaware County Children and Youth Services. Students are encouraged to select a boy or girl ages 6 to 13. The selection process takes place in Room 111 between December 2 and December 13 each morning (7:50-8:15) and during lunches in the cafeteria. Gifts must be new (a toy, game, book or stuffed animal). Gifts should be brought in, wrapped and tagged by December 13. This has been an extremely successful project for many years. Please encourage your child to participate.
Reach Out and Read Book Drive - From December 2-19, be sure to donate your new or gently used board or picture books and paperback books for ages birth-teen or checks in an effort to support CHOP's Reach Out and Read Program. The Reach Out and Read program is designed to help children in low-income communities receive a new book at every doctor visit (or while at CHOP), which helps to promote reading as a family, as well as developing strong vocabulary and language skills. Please put your new or gently used books in the designated bin (can be found in team Pods and Lobby) and please turn in any checks (made payable to “Reach Out and Read”) to Room 416, Mrs. Kampes – 6A. The Advisory that brings in the most books will win a breakfast treat!

The Thanksgiving Basket collection was a great success - A huge thank you to the Radnor families who contributed baskets and money towards our 2013 Thanksgiving basket drive. It was a huge success. We needed 60 baskets this year but when the drop off day had concluded we had over 70 baskets! In addition we received sufficient monetary donations such that we are able to provide support to all identified Radnor families to use during this season toward their winter holiday dinner purchases. We could not have accomplished this without the generosity of our RMS and RHS families and staff. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season!
Thank You to all the parents, staff, students and teachers who supported the RMS Book Fair this year! This important fundraiser is a student and teacher favorite that encourages and supports a love of reading among our RMS community. Our successful Book Fair helped raise funds for both the RMS PTO and the RMS Library. Thanks to those who visited during the school day and during parent-teacher conferences. Also, a big thank you to Catherine Horan and Joanne Lawson who shared their library with many, many books, students, parents and teachers during the Book Fair. Special kudos to Book Fair Chairs Claudia Dustin and Stephanie Frick and the many volunteers who gave their time to this traditional favorite.
