  • Radnor Township School District is proud to offer a variety of virtual summer program options for students in grades K-12: Enrichment Camps, Radnor High School Summer School, Book Clubs and Extended School Year (ESY). Note that the camps are open to students in specific grade levels; "current" means the grade the student was in during the 2019-20 school year in RTSD.

Summer Enrichment Camp: Current K-5th Grade Students

Radnor Township School District is excited to offer four weeks of remote learning opportunities this summer for RTSD students currently enrolled in grades K-5. The Summer Enrichment Camp is a project-based learning program, with a balance of remote learning experiences and home-based hands-on activities. There will be opportunities for students to learn, share and connect with peers. The Summer Enrichment Camp features four week-long sessions. Each week will include opportunities for your child centered around a specific theme. Interested students can choose to enroll in one, some or all of the sessions offered. There is no cost for this program.

The Summer Enrichment Camp is a project-based learning program that will be mostly asynchronous through Schoology, with some synchronous opportunities to interact with teachers and peers. The Summer Enrichment Camp features four week-long sessions. Each week will be centered around a specific theme. Interested students can choose to enroll in one, some, or all of the sessions offered. There is no cost for this program.

Radnor Summer Book Club: Current K-5th Grade Students

The Radnor Township School District librarians and the Radnor Memorial librarians are partnering to present the "Imagine Your Story Summer Book Clubs."

Are you looking for adventure? Getting a dragon for a pet?  Embarking on a hero’s quest? Visiting some familiar fairy tales with a new twist? RTSD and the Radnor Memorial Librarians are offering eight weeks of virtual book clubs in Summer 2020.

Clubs meet via Zoom beginning June 22 and ending August 14. These programs are available at no cost to members of our community.

• Kindergarten and 1st graders: Tuesdays at 9 a.m.
• 2nd and 3rd graders: Wednesdays at  9 a.m.
• 4th and 5th graders: Thursdays @ 9 a.m.

Who: Open to all current K-5 students (2019-2020 school year) enrolled in Radnor Township.

Radnor Township School District is excited to present an exclusive Online Book Club for current 6th-, 7th- and 8th-grade students. The featured selection for Summer 2020 is The Eighth Day by Dianne K. Salerni. There is no cost for this program.

The Book Club will include:
• An exclusive opportunity to interact with author Dianne K. Salerni;
• Critical thinking, discussion and fun activities; 
• A raffle to win a signed copy of the author's next book.

Hard copies of The Eighth Day are available for purchase and delivery through Children's Book World and the eBook is available through the Radnor Memorial Library Digital Collection.

Radnor High School Summer School

The Radnor High School Summer School program provides students with the opportunity to enrich and accelerate their learning, as well as gives students a chance to recover credits in courses they failed during the regular school year. The summer courses offered in 2019 are Advanced Algebra I, Advanced Geometry and Honors Geometry. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Radnor High School will run this year's Summer School program virtually.

Who: Open to rising 9th-12th grade students. Radnor residents who do not attend RTSD public schools must show proof of residency when registering.

When: June 22-August 4; Monday-Friday; 7:45-11:45 a.m. Tutoring is available for 30 minutes immediately following each session and is included in the cost of tuition.

 Extended School Year (ESY)

Extended School Year (ESY)

Radnor Township School District's Extended School Year (ESY) Program provides a powerful adjunct to the traditional school year. This year's ESY program will run with virtual teacher support from July 13-August 6, Monday to Thursday, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Virtual lessons will be conducted via Big Blue Button (BBB) on Schoology. All ESY students who are eligible for academic instruction will receive a link to online program content (i.e. iRead, System 44, Read 180, and/or Math 180). ESY students will keep their district-issued device until the conclusion of the program. 

ESY teachers will plan the majority of ELA instruction on Mondays and Wednesdays and Math on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Social/emotional skills instruction will occur daily. Related services will be scheduled by the assigned therapists.

Who: Open to qualifying students enrolled in RTSD schools during the 2019-2020 school year. COVID Interim Plans will be written for all ESY students eligible for services this summer. These plans will be sent via email by June 5, 2020. 

When: July 13-August 6; Monday-Thursday; 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
