  • RTSD is proud to offer a variety of program options for students in grades K-12 during Summer 2021. Please note that additional programs and educational opportunities may be added below as details are finalized. Program options below are as of May 19, 2021.

2021 Radnor High School Summer School

The Radnor High School Summer School program provides students with the opportunity to enrich and accelerate their learning, as well as gives students a chance to recover credits in courses they failed during the regular school year. The summer courses offered in 2021 are Advanced Algebra I, Advanced Geometry and Honors Geometry.

Who: Open to rising 9th-12th grade students. Radnor residents who do not attend RTSD public schools must show proof of residency when registering.

When: June 25-August 6. Monday-Friday from 7:45-11:45 a.m. Tutoring is available for 30 minutes immediately following each session and is included in the cost of tuition.

Registration: Registration forms and fees should be mailed to the attention of Nadine McDevitt at Radnor High School (130 King of Prussia Rd., Radnor). The deadline for registration is Friday, June 18. Click here view the application form.

Please note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the instructional model for the 2021 Summer School program has yet to be determined. Radnor High School is prepared to offer a high quality program in accordance with the most current Health and Safety guidelines and provided a successful hybrid in-person Summer School program in 2020.

All In-Person STEAM Camp for Rising 3rd-8th Graders

Week 1: Innovation and Design 

Who: Students who will be entering 3rd-5th grades and 6th–8th grades in September 2021  

Where: Radnor Middle School (all in-person) 

When: July 12 – July 15; July 19-22; July 26-29 

Cost: $175 per session /per person (Financial support is available; interested parents/guardians should contact their school counselor with questions)

Week 1: Innovation and Design  

Dates: July 12-15

Description: Students will work through design challenges that require critical-thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Using a range of materials, students will work through the design and engineering process to investigate real-world problems! Students will be organized in 3rd-5th grade and 6th-8th grade teams and challenges will be grade level appropriate.  

Week 2: Coding and Robotics 

Dates: July 19-22

Description: From drones to robotics, students will work through a planning and design process to apply coding methods and strategies while investigating real-world problems and challenges. Students will be organized in 3rd-5th grade and 6th-8th grade teams and challenges will be grade level appropriate.  

Week 3: Art and Engineering

Description: Through activities and projects, students will learn and apply principles of the engineering and design process through artistic expression and exploration!  Students will be organized in 3rd-5th grade and 6th-8th grade teams and challenges will be grade level appropriate.

Radnor Summer Book Club: Rising K-5th Graders

The RTSD librarians and the Radnor Memorial librarians are partnering to offer seven weeks of FREE virtual book clubs this summer for students entering kindergarten through 5th-grade in September 2021. This year's book club theme is "Tails and Tales."

Clubs will meet via Zoom on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. The book clubs are available at no cost to members of the RTSD community.

Who: Open to all RTSD students who will be entering kindergarten through 5th grades in September 2021

Summer Enrichment Book Clubs: Rising 6th-8th Grade Students

Radnor Township School District is offering a book club for students entering grades 6-8 during the 2021-22 school year. Interested students will meet once per week for two weeks in July with a teacher and other students who are interested in discussing this year's selection. There is no cost for this program.

Summer Enrichment Online Camp: Rising 1st-5th Graders

RTSD is excited to offer four weeks of FREE remote learning opportunities from July 12-August 6, 2021 for RTSD students who will be entering 1st through 5th grades in September 2021. 

The Summer Enrichment Online Camp will take place virtually through the Schoology Learning Management System and Zoom. Each week will include remote learning opportunities for your child centered around a specific theme. There is no cost for this program.

K-12 English Language Development Summer Program

Radnor Township School District invites students in grades K-12 to register for the four-week English Language Development Summer Program. The program will focus on extending students' English language proficiency skills in the areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Special emphasis will be placed on strengthening the English language skills that are necessary to succeed in the RTSD English Language Arts curriculum. The program is staffed by certified teachers who have experience with English learners.

Who: RTSD students identified as English learners. Students entering kindergarten and students new to the district are welcome to enroll if they have completed the RTSD registration process.

When: July 12-August 5. Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

Where: Wayne Elementary School (651 W. Wayne Ave., Wayne)

Registration: Registration is open to students identified as English learners only. There is no fee to attend this program.

Extended School Year (ESY)

The Radnor Township School District Extended School Year (ESY) Program uses evidence-based programs and strategies that proved effective for student learning during the school year and partners them with co-curricular experiences to provide identified students with academic support and fun experiences. All programming is designed to meet each student's needs based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP)

Who: Open to qualifying RTSD students in grades K-12. Extended School Year services are discussed at Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings held in the spring semester.

When: July 6-August 5; Monday-Thursday; 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
