Radnor's search for a superintendent continues. We are very proud that our district’s reputation for excellence has attracted many highly-qualified candidates.

Though our initial search effort yielded a diverse pool of more than 30 applicants, the Board's commitment to matching Radnor's expectations requires that we continue to invite candidates from around the region and even across the country. We are engaging in a thoughtful review to identify the most promising candidates. We have completed many rigorous interviews to determine the degree of fit between our criteria and the candidate's professional experiences.

As a result, we are confident that we will be able to find a superintendent who understands our district, understands all the dynamics of public education, and matches the criteria established by the Board and the community in the focus groups.

This process has demanded patience. The Board continues to be extremely grateful for the support of the community and for all of the input that we have received as we work to find the person who will continue RTSD's pursuit of excellence.

The superintendent search is progressing nicely. The Board is narrowing the candidate pool through an extensive interview process that matches the candidate’s qualifications, skills and attributes with the needs of our community (as identified in the focus groups).

Superintendent searches can be a time consuming process that require a great deal of preparation, research and most of all patience. While everyone, including the Board, is anxious to hire the next superintendent of the Radnor Township School District, we remain committed to finding not just the next superintendent for the district but the best superintendent for the district. To that end, we are making good progress.

We continue to be very appreciative of the community’s understanding as we work to achieve our goal of selecting the best candidate for the district, and thank every one for their input and support.

The search for superintendent is still in the interview stage. The paper screening and the screening interviews of the first batch of candidates have been completed. First round interviews have begun. During the first round, the Search Team is conducting in-depth interviews with the candidates in order to ensure that the next superintendent possesses the qualities and demonstrates the skills identified in the focus groups as essential in the next superintendent. The board will continue to screen new applicants and schedule interviews until the interview process has concluded.

A total of 12 focus groups were held with teachers, support staff, principals, central office administration, students, community leaders, parents and the community at large. Based on focus group participant comments and discussion, a candidate profile was developed. The search team is now in the process of matching the candidate profile with the applicants. This will be achieved through a series of in-depth interviews. There will be a minimum of three rounds of interviews. At the conclusion of each round of interviews, candidates will either advance to the next round or be eliminated from the process.

After all first round interviews have been completed, the Board will move onto second round interviews. The Board extends its appreciation to the community for your patience and support as we work to ensure that the best candidate is selected as the next superintendent of the Radnor Township School District.
