RHS - National Honor Society

  • The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.
There are four main purposes of the NHS: "To create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.

Only juniors and seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or above and received a letter in HOMEROOM may submit a Candidate Information Packet for membership into Radnor High School's Chapter of National Honor Society.  Once students have received their Invitation Letters, they should choose "Membership Application" on the menu at the left.  The directions are on the first page of the Candidate Packet.  Students must obtain two character recommendations, two service recommendations, and one leadership recommendation in addition, to an information sheet, and a personal statement on the given topic (see information sheet).  Students should obtain the required recommendations and fill out their information in a timely fashion. (For your convenience, individual pages of the packet can be found below.)  All student documents must be submitted to Room 125, Mrs. PEterson's Room no later than 3:15pm on Thursday, October 7th. Only recommendations may be submitted electronically. Documents (including recommendations) submitted late or Candidate Packet that are incomplete packets will not be considered for membership into the Radnor chapter of National Honor Society.  If there are questions, please submit them to janee.peterson@rtsd.org.

Here are the individual pages of the packet.  Just remember: ALL Documents must be submitted in person to room 125 no later than Thursday, October 7th.
