SAGA (Sexuality and Gender Alliance, formerly Gay-Straight Alliance [GSA])
The Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA), established in 2001, has always been committed to promoting the development of a safe and respectful community, with special focus on LGBTQ people and all allies. In 2015, we renamed the GSA to SAGA: the Sexuality and Gender Alliance.
SAGA's largest event of the year has traditionally been Radnor's participation in the international Day of Silence, which we coordinate, in April; more than 100 students usually participate in the Day of Silence each year.
Any student can come to one of our meetings: no invitation is necessary. New students interested in getting information can contact any existing member or one of the sponsors.
Leadership: co-presidents Abigail Frishman '19 and Mab Rongione '19. (Communications Director TBD.)
Contact: ask Mr. Rosin (or ask any member to speak with him) to add you to our Schoology group
Faculty Sponsor: Carl Rosin, English teacher and Christine Kulp, RHS social worker
Meetings: The club meets once or more per month, usually in the Writing Center during Community Period, to discuss issues and opportunities around school and in the community. Fall 2018:
- We will have a table at the Activities Fair
- No Place for Hate (schedule to be announced)
- Glass-case update (hallway near rm. 126); poster-production for Activities Fair (in Writing Center)
- Meeting to meet each other and plan for future events, including the Day of Silence
