    RESPA, RSEA Reach Contract Agreements with RTSD

     
    Radnor Township School District is pleased to announce that our School Board has reached new, four-year contract agreements with both the Radnor Educational Support Personnel Association (RESPA) and the Radnor School Employees Association (RSEA).

    The contract for RESPA, which represents our support staff members, was ratified by the group’s membership on November 19 and is retroactive to July 1, 2015. The contract for RSEA, which represents our transportation staff members, was ratified by the group’s membership on November 23 and is retroactive to September 1, 2015.

    Both contracts were approved by the School Board at a special meeting on December 1.

    “The members of RESPA are happy to have reached an agreement with RTSD,” RESPA President Laura Foran said. “RESPA is honored and grateful for the opportunity to work in this district as we realize we are a very lucky group of citizens working with a tremendously involved community that strives to put kids first.”

    “We are pleased that RSEA has reached an agreement with RTSD,” RSEA President Chuck Thompson said. “We appreciate the efforts involved in the process and look forward to continuing the RTSD tradition of excellence in education and the commitment to and safety of our kids.”

    The terms for both contracts include a 10.69% total salary increase over the life of each contract and a gradual increase in employees' contribution to medical benefits. Each member of RESPA and RSEA will begin contributing 6.5% of salary to healthcare in 2016-17 and an additional .25% each subsequent year through the end of each contract.

    The agreements with the district’s support and transportation staff members follow approximately 10 months of negotiations, which began in January 2015 and included numerous formal and informal meetings and discussions between the District Negotiating Team and both RESPA’s and RSEA’s Negotiating Teams.
