Welcome Back to School!
Degrees and Certifications:
WES PTO is going green and providing all 2019-2020 Back to School information online. In the past, families received Back to School folders with helpful information, dates, flyers, and forms for upcoming events. Lots and lots of papers! You can now find all those details and more right here on our PTO website. Please explore our site and become familiar with the sidebar. Our goal this year is to provide all information and registration forms online. PTO flyers and forms will not be sent home in backpacks anymore (with the exception of a few key events).

Welcome From Our Co-Presidents...
We hope you had a great summer and are ready to start a new school year.
First off, thank you to the Wayne Elementary School and RTSD staff and faculty, and the numerous PTO volunteers, who where very busy over the summer preparing for the new school year. One highly anticipated summertime project was the installation of our New Secondary Playground. The PTO raised and contributed $65,000 for the project. It would not have become a reality had it not been a concerted effort among you (the WES PTO), the Radnor School Board and Mrs. Ferguson, Mr. Tracy and team. Thank you.
We will have an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Back to School Picnic on Friday, September 6th at 5:15pm. We hope you can join us!
There are a lot of great things planned at WES over the course of the school year (take a look at the Events calendar). WES traditions include the Halloween Trunk or Treat, Craft Night, Science Fair, Bingo Night, Talent Show, Cultural Arts assemblies, Multi-Cultural week (this year focused on India), the WES 5k, Spring Fair, and much more.
Whether you are new to WES or a seasoned veteran, here is a quick list of items to help make the most of the year:
- Clearances – They’re required to volunteer, and good for 5 years so we encourage you to get them done early so you can make the most of your WES experience.
- School Directory – RTSD’s student directory is all online and easily accessible via Membership Toolkit website and mobile app. It provides class lists, contact information, and will be the main vehicle for sending PTO emails. Be sure to renew or purchase your membership for the 2019-2020 school year.
- Family Donation Program – Want to contribute to the WES PTO but streamline the process by making a one time donation to fund all the amazing things at WES throughout the year? The Family Donation Program is for you.
- Volunteer Opportunities – All the fantastic things going on at WES require many hands to make them happen. There are opportunities for all, regardless of time, no special talents required! Find an opportunity that fits and sign up!
We invite you to the first PTO Meeting on Monday, September 16th, at 6:30pm in the WES Little Theater, to meet Mrs. Ferguson, the PTO Executive Board, and fellow WES parents and teachers. We look forward to a great year. Please feel free to reach out to us anytime.

What is the PTO?
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a partnership between parents, teachers and staff working together to improve our children’s education. The PTO mission is to create a sense of community between parents, teachers and students, and to support and enhance the educational experiences of our children. As a parent or guardian of a WES student, you are automatically a member, with no obligation, but we want you to be involved however you can! Attending meetings is a great place to start.
Why join us at a PTO meeting?
● To meet the Principal, Assistant Principal and PTO officers
● Hear the latest WES happenings
● Meet and interact with other parents
● Meet and interact with teachers and other staff
● Learn about upcoming events
● Discover ways to get involved and volunteer
● Ask questions and get answers
Please reach out to volunteer, get involved, ask questions, and learn more!

Online Directory - Membership Toolkit
Membership Toolkit = Online Student Directory app
The Radnor PTOs are very excited to announce MySchoolAnywhere has merged with Membership Toolkit! It is the leading information communications software provider to PTO/PTAs across the country.
Back-to-School means shopping for school supplies and filling out forms. For the PTO it means preparing Membership Toolkit (MTK), our NEW PTO information app replacing MySchoolAnywhere (MSA). This past month we completed a "graduation process" in the Membership ToolKit app that accomplished two things:
- It updated your student's grade to reflect their grade level for the 2019-2020 year.
- Access to the 2019-2020 online student directory is now available for purchase. The price remains the same as last year, $10 for individual access and $20 for family access. We raised over $11,000 last year and wish to thank everyone who supported this effort!
VERY IMPORTANT ACTION NEEDED: Even though you previously had an MSA account, you will need to create a NEW log in account for Membership ToolKit. This is a one time only action. YOU DO NOT NEED TO INPUT YOUR FAMILY OR CHILD'S INFORMATION! Your family's and child's information is already transferred into MTK. Please review/update your contact information by clicking "Family Information". Please also ensure you click through all the steps until you reach the "save" button. You then can update your privacy settings and MTK allows you to control all the content you wish to appear in the directory. To start the process of creating a new log in account for Membership ToolKit (MTK), please click the link below and follow the prompts.
The PTOs use Membership ToolKit for ALL of their communications including monthly e-newsletters and volunteer signups (in conjunction with Signup Genius).
Please download the Membership Toolkit Mobile app so you will be able to access your directory and signups on the go!
For more information please visit Membership Toolkit District Overview.
If you have any questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please consider making a donation to the WES PTO by using the PayPal donate button below. Every dollar raised goes towards supporting our WES students and community, including almost all school assemblies, programs, International week, welcoming events, teacher grants, and much more!
Does your corporation make matching contributions? If so, email Amy Calabrese at email@example.com for the WES PTO's EIN (employer identification number) to submit to your employer.
Help earn Cash Back for WES through Summer Box Top collections. Send your Box Tops in to school with your child. Each classroom has a collection envelope in their homeroom. We will have exciting competitions throughout the year including classroom parties for the top three contributing homerooms at the end of the year!

It's not too late to submit your interest in being a Homeroom Parent for the 2019-2020 school year! Work closely with your child's teacher to help organize class events and provide excellent communications to your class parents.
Every fall, WES families in each grade host the parents of that grade in their homes for a casual, BYOB cocktail party. It's a great way to kick off the year, catch up with old friends, and meet new ones. We want to keep the fun going all year! Stay tuned for more Parent Socials coming this winter and spring to provide easy and fun ways for WES parents to get together (without the kiddos!). Save the dates and book your babysitters now, all parent socials are adults-only.

The Multicultural Group welcomes you!
Our group provides opportunities to increase the awareness and the value of diversity. We work with the school and PTO to create an environment where every student and their family feel comfortable and supported in sharing new ideas and perspectives. Join us as we embrace cultural diversity! We invite and encourage ALL families to meet, to share, and to learn about all the varied cultures that make up our wonderful Wayne Elementary School community. Throughout the school year, we have gatherings and events that are a wonderful way to meet and connect with other WES parents and become a part of the school community.
We also invite you to become a part of our Walking Group. While not formally organized by our committee, many of us walk when we have the time and the weather is permitting. It is open to anyone and is a way to meet parents from other Radnor schools. If you are interested in walking with the group, we meet Thursday mornings at 9:20 AM by Vic and Dean’s parking lot on West Wayne Avenue. Please email Rogeria Kaisermann (RMS Multicultural Committee chair) at email@example.com to be added to the list. Please feel free to reach out to any of us to learn more about our group and its events.
We look forward to meeting you!

Cultural Arts Program
Our Cultural Arts program provides educational and exciting school assemblies throughout the year. Some assemblies include the Bee Man, Hip Hop Fundamentals, Cello Fury and Martha and George Washington. We welcome all members of the WES community and provide opportunities for all levels of participation. Parents are invited to attend any of the performances. For a complete listing of this year's events please visit our Cultural Arts Program.
Community Outreach Program
Community Outreach Program works closely with the school guidance counselor and local nonprofits to support individuals and families in need. Our goal is to help WES students and parents stay mindful of the challenges faced by some community members and offer simple, meaningful ways to give back. Annual initiatives include our holiday and spring break food drives, Halloween candy collection, and Craft Night service table. We welcome new members and ideas - the more members we have, the more we can do for others. Please consider joining us for the 2019-2020 school year.
