International Week: Week of Jan. 25, 2021
Students from all five Radnor Township School District schools will participate in activities dedicated to the celebration of diversity, culture and traditions during this year's virtual International Week celebration from January 25-29.
Each school's Multicultural Committee is sponsoring and organizing the week, which will expose students to unique lifestyles and build cultural awareness through a variety of virtual activities. The week will conclude on Friday, January 29 with at-home, family fun, potluck celebrations hosted across the district.

Ithan Elementary School
IES to Celebrate Canada
Ithan Elementary School students will learn about our "Neighbor to the North," Canada, during this year's International Week celebration.
- Monday: Informative video presentation all about Canada from an Ithan parent.
- Tuesday: Lesson exposing students to Canadian music.
- Wednesday: Lesson about Canada’s Indigenous People.
- Thursday: Lesson will allow kids to get creative and do an art project.
- Friday: Lesson will teach kids to cook a Canadian treat. This cooking show will feature a couple of Ithan "Celebrity Chefs!"
Packets will be given to students to use alongside their videos. Everything in the packet will also be posted on Schoology. Cyber students will receive this packet in their regular January 25 supply pick-up.

Traditionally, the International Week Potluck Dinners are a great way for Radnor families to try new international dishes. This year, the RTSD community is invited to "travel" the world, together but apart, by trying a new dish at home on Fri., Jan 29.

Radnor Elementary School
RES to Celebrate Perú
Radnor Elementary School students will learn about the vibrant, Spanish speaking country of Perú during this year's International Week celebration.
- Monday: Lesson will include the climate, and animals of Perú, along with a virtual tour of Machu Picchu.
- Tuesday: Lesson will expose students to the Spanish language, and to what it is like to go to school in Perú.
- Wednesday: Lesson will introduce the students to different styles of Peruvian art and ask them to try to create their own.
- Thursday: Lesson features Storytime with books about Perú.
- Friday: Lesson will immerse the students in the varied music and dance of Perú.
Packets of supplemental information will be given to the students to use alongside their videos. Included in these packets will be their International Week 2021 Passports and a fun souvenir, all the way from Lima!
Packets will be available for pick-up by cyber students,

While we can't meet in person this year at the annual Potluck Dinner, families can still share their favorite meals and celebrate the diversity within the RES community with the RES Community Cookbook Project.

After dinner, join the RES PTO for a Trivia Game Night. Questions will test your knowledge of Perú, Radnor and RES.
The GRAND PRIZE will be a gift basket full of goodies from Perú, RES and Radnor! Runners up will win a Peruvian fabric pencil case with a surprise inside.
Access code will be emailed out at 7:30 p.m. by Dr. Stevenson.

Wayne Elementary School
WES to Celebrate United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Wayne Elementary School students will learn about the fascinating countries that make up the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland during this year's International Week celebration.
The Multicultural Committee will prepare a Schoology page for students to access during the week, specials teachers will incorporate the UK in their lessons, and building secretary Ms. Rebecca Savage will share trivia questions during morning and afternoon announcements.
There will also be a bagpipe performance during drop off/pick up of hybrid students on Monday, January 25. Students will be encouraged to work on UK-specific assignments during the asynchronous day of instruction on Friday, January 29.Virtual Community Potluck Dinner, "Together Apart" Celebration:

Radnor Middle School & Radnor High School
Radnor Middle School will share video postcards created by RMS families to 8th-grade students during World Language classes.
The week will also feature the premiere of the International Week Globe Toss video featuring members of the RMS and RHS communities.
