When to Keep Your Child Home

  • FluThe nursing staff recommends that you keep your child home from school if he or she is exhibiting any of the following symptoms:

    • Fever of more than 100 degrees
    • Chills
    • Vomiting
    • Diarrhea
    • Abdominal pain
    • Rash
    • Itchy, red, watery eyes
    • Excessive coughing
    • Severe sore throat
    • Body aches
    • Enlarged glands
    • Excessive tiredness

Sending your child to school before he or she is completely well places them at risk for contracting other illnesses and also promotes the spread of illness to classmates and staff members.
If your child is going to be absent, please notify school by calling Safe Arrival. A written explanation, including date and reason for absence, is required upon return to school. This excuse must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.
