Message from Mrs. Ferguson and Mr. Thomas
Dear New and Returning Wayne Families:
Welcome Back! We are pleased to continue our partnership for the 21-22 school year with our Wayne community. We hope you had the opportunity to relax, regroup, and spend time pursuing interests that brought joy to you and your family over the summer break.
It is exciting that this year we can begin the school year with our students in person and with a traditional schedule! While we are not fully back to pre-pandemic systems we will get there. You can anticipate many of the mitigation strategies that were successful in keeping us safe and healthy last school year. The most recent update was posted below in the Radnor Reader and provides links to the latest expectations and protocols.
“RTSD is committed to keeping schools open for safe in-person learning during the 2021-22 school year, while operating as close to normal as possible. To achieve this goal together, RTSD will begin the school year by requiring masks for all students, staff, and visitors indoors, effective August 16. This requirement does not extend to outdoor areas. Discussions on possible 2021-22 Covid-19 mitigation strategies began in earnest at the August 17 Board Curriculum Committee meeting (presentation | video) and will continue as the start of the school year approaches and we closely monitor our experience once school opens. Learn more on our new 2021-22 Covid-19 Mitigation Planning webpage.”
We have been working diligently to prepare for the upcoming school year and your return. Throughout this year we will continue to do our best to nurture and maintain a safe and caring learning environment that is inclusive and welcoming to students, staff, and families. We will grow our partnership between home and school by continuing to build on trust and collaboration as well as open, honest, and respectful communication.
To help our students and families transition smoothly to the start of a new school year, please set up your HAC (active August 25) and your Schoology access (active August 25) prior to September 7. The following links will assist you with the process and give you access to support if required: HAC Link, Schoology Link.
There has been communication about device procedures. For questions and to review, visit the Device & Learning Programs webpage.
