Department Overview

  • The Department of Teaching and Learning has the primary responsibility of providing district-level leadership and vision of programs and initiatives pertaining to curriculum, instruction, assessments, professional development and English language development. This responsibility includes providing support for all programs based on the district's mission, strategic plan and Pennsylvania academic standards.

    The major roles and responsibilities of the Department of Teaching and Learning are to provide leadership in the areas of strategic planning and systemic design, curriculum, instruction and assessment, educator effectiveness and employee development.

    The Directors of Elementary and Secondary Teaching and Learning provide oversight and leadership of building administration for Ithan, Radnor and Wayne elementary schools, Radnor Middle School and Radnor High School. The Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning oversees the ongoing planning, implementation, development and direction of the district’s teaching and learning practices, aligned with state and national guidelines.

    The department promotes challenging learning expectation for all students and works collaboratively with the Director of Technology to integrate technology into the classroom.
