Integrated Program DepartmentSince 1987, Radnor Middle School has been a proud leader in the creation and development of integrated learning programs. In that year, Watershed, the seventh grade program, was established and created a model that has been copied in middle schools throughout the United States and even the world. The success of Watershed led to the development of other integrated programs at RMS, including Soundings (grade 8, 1999), Crossroads (grade 6, 2003), and Gateways (grade 8, 2007). RMS is proud of our history of support for integrated programming. To find out more about the philosophy or practices of integrated learning or any of the four specific programs at RMS, please follow the appropriate links below:Information Regarding the Integrated Lottery:
In late April, students who are interested in entering the random lottery for entry into an Integrated Program will attend informational meetings and submit their name for consideration.
After the lottery is held, students and parents will have two weeks to make a commitment to join the integrated course. Students who do not commit by the established deadline will be placed onto a traditional team and their slot will be given to the first student on the waiting list. The lottery is conducted in a random format for rising 6th graders into Crossroads and will continue to be random for entry into Watershed, Gateways and/or Soundings.
Current 5th, 6th and 7th grade students, from the 2017-2018 school year, will have an equal opportunity to be selected for any of the Integrated Programs, regardless of participation in an Integrated Program during the previous year.Do you have more questions about our Integrated Programs? To learn more about any of the four integrated programs, please contact the teachers of that program. For any general questions, please feel free to email Dave Mercurio, head of the Integrated Department, and one of the two teachers of Soundings.
