Attendance/Lateness
Attendance/Lateness
Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes and arrive/be logged in on time. Students who miss a session for any reason are considered absent. Students who are late to school will have their lateness count towards days absent. If a student exceeds the absence limit, they will be withdrawn from the course. No refunds will be given to students who are withdrawn due to attendance issues.
Arrival Time | 5 to 59 minutes late | 60 to 119 minutes late | 120 to 179 minutes late | 180 to 239 minutes late |
---|---|---|---|---|
Consequence | 1/4 day absent | 1/2 day absent | 3/4 day absent | 1 day absent |
Grades & Grading Scale
Each summer school course grade is based on total points earned from homework, quizzes, tests and other projects. Grades can be viewed on Home Access Center (HAC).
Since each day of summer school accounts for more than a week of instruction during the regular school year, it is imperative that students spend time studying after they leave each day. Teachers are available each day after class to assist students who may need extra help.

Report Cards
An official grade report will be mailed after the last day of summer school to the home address listed on the student’s registration form. Only one copy of the transcript will be mailed per student.
Summer school courses taken by students who attend Radnor Middle School will be added to the student’s transcript. Students who do not meet the grade requirement to accelerate into the honors course in 2022-2023, will be recommended for the math course that was originally made during the course recommendation process.
Student Conduct
Students are expected to adhere to the rules and guidelines outlined in the Radnor Middle School Student Handbook. A Level 1 infraction that otherwise would have resulted in a detention will result in a warning. A second, and all subsequent Level 1 infractions will be considered an unmodified Level 1 behavior and will be treated as a Level 2 infraction. Provided they are not suspendable offenses, a total of three (3) Level 2 or higher infractions will result in the student being withdrawn from the course.
Any infraction that would result in an Out-of-School Suspension will result in the student being withdrawn from the course. No refunds will be given for students who are withdrawn for disciplinary issues.
Any Level 3 or 4 infractions that would result in a multiple day Out-of-School Suspension may extend into the regular school year and involve police contact.

2022-23 Information
Radnor Middle School Summer School
RTSD offers summer math and writing support to identified elementary, middle-school, and high-school students who have achieved below curricular expectations and would benefit from additional practice with core content in preparation for next year. The viability of each summer program depends on both staff availability and student enrollment.
The Radnor Middle School Summer School program provides highly-motivated learners who took Course I in 6th grade or Course II in 7th grade in the 2021-22 school year the opportunity to take a rigorous, compacted math course to accelerate their learning in mathematics.
Program Dates: Thursday, June 23-Friday, August 5, 2022 (excluding July 4)
Program Times: Classes will meet daily from 7:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Help sessions are available after the conclusion of the instructional day, at no cost to the student, from 11:45 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
Location: Radnor Middle School (150 Louella Ave., Wayne)
Eligibility: Radnor Middle School Summer School courses are only open to current RMS students who were in a grade level math class (Course I in 6th grade or Course II in 7th grade) in the 2021-2022 school year.
Program Model: RMS Summer School will be offered in a hybrid model. Students can enroll for in-person OR remote instruction but must commit to one placement during the enrollment process. All major assessments must be taken in-person regardless of the instructional delivery choice.
Please note: Space in the RMS Summer School program is limited. Classes will have a maximum capacity of eighteen (18) students. Once the maximum number of students are enrolled in a course, additional registrants will be added to a waitlist. If a student chooses to unenroll from the program, waitlist students will be notified in the order that applications were received. Classes that do not not have at least 12 enrollees will be cancelled and students will be notified.
