PHOTOS/VIDEO: Ithan Elementary School 5th-Grade Concert
Ithan Elementary School 5th-grade students performed a variety of musical styles in two in-person concerts on May 5 in the school's cafetorium. They performed for schoolmates during a daytime performance and for family and friends at night.
The orchestra performed "Prelude" by Brian Balmages; "Mahler's Mysterious March" by Gustav Mahler, arr. Jim Palmer; "Road Trip" by Robert S. Frost; and "Barnburner" by Michael Story. The group is led by Nora McDonnell
The band performed "Dragonfire" by Paul Lavender; "Mechanical Monsters" by Randall D. Standride; and "The Alcazar" by Clifford Spires. The group is led by Sal Scinto.
The chorus performed "Hine ma tov," Psalm 133:1, music by Allan E. Naplan; "It's All Right" by Curtis Mayfield, arr. Robert T. Gibson; "Lean on Me (with We Shall Overcome)" arr. Mark Hayes; "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" by Elton John and Tim Rice, arr. Keith Christopher; "Hamilton Highlights" by Lin-Manuel Miranda; arr. Lisa DeSpan. The group is led by Beth Hacker.
All 5th-grade students are members of the grade-level chorus. Participation in strings (orchestra) and band is optional.
