Five Radnor Township School District students were recently named winners in the 2022 Dr. Nicholas A. Spennato Young Authors' Project hosted by the Keystone State Literacy Association (KSLA): Delaware County and Delaware County Intermediate Unit #25.

Wayne Elementary School 5th-grade student Olivia Gai ("Gaining Hope") and Radnor Middle School 8th-grade students Meredith Gelles ("A Portuguese Plot Twist"), Grace Gerrow ("In Deep Water"), Isabella Teles ("Quiet, Light, Dark, and Gone"), and Annie Zhong ("Warmth on a Cold Day") were selected as winners from a pool of more than 500 entries submitted by public and non-public school students this year.

The writing pieces submitted for the Young Authors' project could be a work of fiction or nonfiction but must have be written as part of a school assignment. Students could receive guidance with editing and conventions, but the ideas and content were original and completed independently.
