Online Educational Services

With our emphasis on providing students with robust resources that enhance their learning, students will be using a variety online services and programs to support their instruction. These web-based resources are designed to help students learn, collaborate, research, and engage with content in multiple ways.

Microsoft Office

Students will be provided with Microsoft Office 365 accounts with access to the suite of applications provided by Microsoft including word processing, presentation, website creation, and spreadsheet tools. The Microsoft account is also used to log in to other online educational applications.

Schoology

The District also utilizes the Learning Management System (LMS), Schoology. Schoology is used to deliver online instruction and content to students in Kindergarten through 12th-grade. Access to online courses and course information is limited to students enrolled in specific classes and sections. Parent access to Schoology courses and content is also available.

Data and Privacy

The District recognizes the need to protect the confidentiality of personally identifiable information in the education records of students. The District also works to safeguard and protect the confidentiality of students' educational records and personally identifiable information when collecting, retaining, disclosing and destroying student education records, in accordance with Board policy, state requirements, and federal and state law and regulations.

What is the Student Privacy Pledge?

The Future of Privacy Forum (FPF) and The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) introduced a Student Privacy Pledge to safeguard student privacy regarding the collection, maintenance, and use of student personal information. The commitments are intended to concisely detail existing federal law and regulatory guidance regarding the collection and handling of student data, and to encourage service providers to more clearly articulate these practices.
