Stern, Goldman Elected Board President, VP; New Members Sworn In

RTSD School Board Elects Susan Stern as President and Amy Goldman as Vice President

 
New Board Members Liz Duffy, Jeff Jubelirer, Nancy Monahan and Bradley Moore, Esq. Also Sworn In
 
Susan Stern and Amy Goldman were unanimously elected President and Vice President, respectively, of the Radnor Township School District Board of School Directors at the Board's December 3 Reorganization Meeting. It is the second consecutive year of service as President for Stern, while Goldman takes over for immediate-past Vice President Lydia T. Solomon.
 
New board members Liz Duffy, Jeff Jubelirer, Nancy Monahan and Bradley Moore, Esq., elected in November 2019, were also sworn in by Senior Judge Ann A. Osborne of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.
 
Duffy, Jubelirer, Monahan and Moore join incumbent board member Goldman, who was re-elected to a new, four-year term in November and was also sworn in at the meeting. Board members Andrew Babson, Sarah Dunn, Esq., Solomon and Stern continue their terms.
 
Prior to the meeting, the new and re-elected board members celebrated the occasion with family, friends, and incumbent board members at a reception in the administration building's lobby.
 
 

 

President and Vice President

 
Susan Sten

Susan Stern is beginning her seventh year of service on the RTSD School Board. She brings experience from a variety of volunteer service opportunities she has undertaken throughout Radnor Township. She served for eight years on the Township Planning Commission and is a member of Skunk Hollow Community Garden.

On the School Board, she served as President the past year and Vice President in 2018. She has served on the Policy, Facilities and Finance Committees, and currently serves as Chair of the Finance Committee.

Ms. Stern is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and works part-time as a business manager for a local church. She lives in Wayne. 

Amy Goldman  

Amy Goldman is beginning her fifth year of service on the RTSD School Board. She has been an active parent volunteer leader in Radnor schools for 12 years, including as Chair of the Cultural Arts Committee for both the Ithan Elementary School and Radnor Middle School Parent-Teacher Organizations; President of the Radnor Middle School PTO; and Founder and Chairperson of the Radnor PTOs District-Wide Initiatives Committee. Goldman has also been a member of the RTSD Strategic and Comprehensive Planning Committees, the RTSD Technology Integration Study Committee, and the RTSD K-12 School Counseling (339) Planning Committee.

Since her election to the School Board in 2015, Goldman has served as a Chair of both the School Board’s Government Relations and Communications Committee and Policy Committee. She is currently the PA School Boards Association’s Sectional Advisor for Southeastern PA, Co-Chair of the Delaware County School Boards Legislative Council, and in her second term as a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Prior to her Radnor volunteer service, Goldman was a long-time Account Executive in television advertising sales at 6ABC and holds a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania. Goldman and her husband have two children: a daughter who is a 2017 graduate of Radnor High School and a son who is a 2019 graduate of the Haverford School.


New Board Members 

Liz Duffy  

Liz Duffy is beginning her first year of service on the RTSD School Board after being elected in November 2019. She and her husband, Kevin, have been Radnor residents for more than 20 years and are the proud parents of four children: two who recently graduated from Radnor High School and one each currently attending Radnor Middle School and RHS. Duffy spent more than 15 years working as a marketing and advertising professional in Manhattan and Philadelphia, where she worked on a variety of industries including consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and financial services. She is currently a stay-at-home parent who is an active school and community volunteer, including in Radnor Residents for Gun Safety, Radnor Post Prom, Radnor Educational Foundation, as well as a religious ed teacher. Duffy holds a BA in Economics from Boston College, where she graduated with honors.

Jeff Jubelirer  
Jeff Jubelirer
is beginning his first year of service on the RTSD School Board after being elected in November 2019. He is a vice president with Bellevue Communications and widely recognized as one of the top corporate communications and public relations strategists in Pennsylvania. Jubelirer is a “go to” media and political analyst for local broadcast and newspaper outlets and a regular panelist on 6ABC’s venerable weekly public affairs show, “Inside Story.”
 
Jubelirer was named as one of the region’s “40 under 40” by the Philadelphia Business Journal; recognized as one of “22 People to Watch” by Philadelphia Magazine; and was selected to the “Pennsylvania Report 100” list of influential people in the state. In May 2012, Jubelirer received the prestigious national Daniel Ginsberg Award for his exemplary leadership on behalf of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and was inducted into the Philadelphia Public Relations Association Hall of Fame in 2016. Jubelirer is also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Communications at Villanova University and serves on the Board of Eluna (formerly the Moyer Foundation) as well as on the Department of Political Science Board of Visitors at his undergraduate alma mater, Penn State University.

Nancy Monahan  
Nancy Monahan 
is beginning her first year of service on the RTSD School Board after being elected in November 2019. She earned a B.A. from Dickinson College and a M.B.A. from New York University and has more than 15 years of marketing and strategic planning experience in the healthcare industry. Monahan has also served as an adjunct professor in Marketing at Eastern University.
 
In addition to raising and spending time with her family, Monahan is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Radnor Memorial Library and volunteers at her church as a co-coordinator for the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) of the Main Line, helping homeless families. She is active in RTSD schools, having served multiple Parent-Teacher Organization Co-Chair roles, including the annual Radnor Speaker Series in partnership with The Agnes Irwin School.
 
Monahan and her husband, Ed, have been Radnor residents for more than 17 years and are parents of two children who attend Radnor Middle School.

 Bradley Moore

Bradley Moore, Esq. is beginning his first year of service on the RTSD School Board after being elected in November 2019. He and his spouse, a professor of psychology at Arcadia University, live in the Conestoga Village neighborhood in Rosemont. Moore attended Radnor public schools for 13 years and is a 1996 graduate of Radnor High School. He earned a B.A. and a Master of Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania, and graduated from the University of Michigan Law School magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. In Moore's legal career, he has practiced as a litigator; served for several years as an attorney for the federal judiciary; taught legal methods as an adjunct professor; and worked in a university general counsel’s office. Before entering the legal profession, Moore taught high school science in Philadelphia and served as a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs in New York City. In Radnor, Moore has participated in active leadership or volunteer roles for the League of Women Voters, the Radnor High School Scholarship Fund, the Garrett Hill Parade Committee, and the Radnor Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organziation. Moore has two children who attend RTSD schools and another in pre-school who will also soon become an RTSD student.
