A cast and crew of more than 100 Radnor High School students presented Les Misérables School Edition from March 5-7 in the RHS auditorium.
In nineteenth century France, Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean's adopted daughter.
The lead roles were double-cast, with one group of actors performing on Thursday and Saturday nights, and the other on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The role of Jean Valjean is played by Ryan Oliver and Gabriel Escobar; Javert by Peter Vitale and Aidan Moore; Thenardier by Ben Adams and Tim Holtman; Madame Thenardier by Barbara Civitella and Anna Maria Iaramboykov; Fantine by Shreya Rupesh and Meredith Forman; Cosette by Mehek Thapar and Sophia Twohig; Marius by Dylan Roche and Aidan Giacomucci; Enjolras by Jason Tey and Patrick Lovenguth; Eponine by Cassidy Else and Amia Korman; and Gavroche by Anne Lacroix and Jacob Braunfeld.
The Radnor High School production of Les Misérables was directed by Ryan Goulden with musical direction by Radnor High School choral music teacher Dr. Bruce Glenny and technical direction by theater and communications teacher Brian Dietzler.
