Jenny Le Sage Named RTSD Director of Special Education
At Its Monthly Meeting on November 27, the School Board Approved the Appointment of Le Sage, Who Was Previously the Assistant Director of Student Services at RTSD
Jenny Le Sage, the Assistant Director of Student Services at Radnor Township School District since 2014, was named the district's new Director of Special Education by the School Board at its Nov. 27 meeting.
"Mrs. Le Sage’s support and dedication to our special education program is evidenced in all she does," Superintendent Kenneth E. Batchelor said. "Special Education programming in Radnor is in great hands under Mrs. Le Sage’s leadership."
Le Sage had been serving as the Acting Director of Student Services since the departure of the previous director, Dr. Kevin Kane, in September 2018. Since this time, the supervision of school nurses has also been reassigned to the district's Human Resources Department and the supervision of school counselors to the district's Teaching and Learning Department. Previously, these two employee groups reported to the Director of Student Services. The new structure provides additional support for both district nurses and counselors, while allowing two administrators to be solely focused on the needs of the district's Special Education Department.
Mrs. Cindy Hoover will continue as the district's Acting Assistant Director of Special Education as the search begins to fill that position permanently.
Le Sage joined RTSD with experience as a special education professional, previously serving as the Director of Special Education at Oxford Area School District. Le Sage was also a Special Education Supervisor at Pequea Valley School District and Downingtown Area School District, respectively, and has classroom experience as a Special Education Teacher with the Chester County Intermediate Unit and as a Learning Support Teacher with Coatesville Area School District.
Le Sage holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, elementary education certification, special education certification (K-12), principal certification and a master’s degree in education leadership from Immaculata University.
