New Dir. of ES Teaching and Learning Appointed by Board

Shawn Dutkiewicz Appointed Director of Elementary Teaching and Learning by RTSD School Board

Shawn Dutkiewicz Mr. Shawn Dutkiewicz, the Principal of Chadds Ford Elementary School since 2014, was appointed the district's new Director of Elementary Teaching and Learning by the RTSD School Board at its monthly business meeting on August 27. His anticipated start date is October 1.

 

Before Mr. Dutkiewicz's time at Chadds Ford Elementary, he was Principal at Pennell Elementary School for seven years as well as a K-6 Math and Science Curriculum Coordinator. He began his career as an elementary teacher, teaching third, fourth and fifth grades.

 

"I am confident that Mr. Dutkiewicz will be an asset to the district and provide support to our elementary program," Superintendent Ken Batchelor said. "I want to thank all those involved in the interviews this summer. This input and guidance has helped us select an outstanding educator to join our district."

 

Mr. Dutkiewicz earned a BS in Education at West Chester University and a Masters in Educational Leadership at Immaculata University. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Widener University.

 

Mr. Dutkiewicz replaces Dr. Anthony Rybarcyzk, who moved on from RTSD this summer to become Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education at Pennridge School District. Dr. Maureen McQuiggan, the district's previous Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning who retired this summer after 14 years at Radnor, will continue serving in the district as Acting Director of Elementary Teaching and Learning until Mr. Dutkiewicz officially joins RTSD.
