School Board Approves Three Administrative Appointments at March 3 Special Business Meeting
Mr. Bill Dolan Named Acting Director of Operations, Mr. Vaughn Bryan Acting Assistant Director of Operations, and Mrs. Heather Gillan-Esposito Assistant Principal Splitting Duties at Ithan and Radnor Elementary Schools
Mr. Bill Dolan, Mr. Vaughn Bryan, and Mrs. Heather Esposito were named Acting Director of Operations, Acting Assistant Director of Operations, and Assistant Principal of IES and RES, respectively, by the RTSD School Board at a special business meeting on March 3.
Acting Director of Operations
Mr. Bill Dolan was appointed the district's Acting Director of Operations as the search continues for a permanent replacement for Mr. Mark Brooks, who is moving on from Radnor to become COO/CFO at Hempfield School District in mid-March. Mr. Dolan has nearly 30 years of professional construction management, design, and maintenance experience, most recently with Pine Street Carpenters, Inc., where he has worked since 1998.
"Mr. Dolan will help keep the Radnor High School ADA Accessibility and and Wellness Project moving along, as well as effectively and efficiently manage the important day-to-day operations required from the department," Batchelor said in his message.
Acting Assistant Director of Operations
Mr. Vaughn Bryan was appointed the district's Acting Assistant Director of Operations. Mr. Bryan has served as Wayne Elementary School’s maintenance professional since February 2010 and started in Radnor in 2004 as Elementary Food Service Coordinator. With 29 years of military service, Mr. Bryan is a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army Reserves and, as a Platoon and Company Sergeant, has led anywhere from 25 to 250 soldiers. He has received numerous citations and awards for completing military tasks and requirements.
"Ask anyone who knows Mr. Bryan and they’ll confirm just how dedicated he is to his work, and how beloved he is by co-workers and students," Batchelor said.
Assistant Principal of IES and RES
Mrs. Heather Gillan-Esposito was appointed the district's new Assistant Principal and will split duties between Ithan Elementary School and Radnor Elementary School. She assumes the position after a successful two years as the district’s Elementary Dean of Students. Mrs. Gillan Esposito joined Radnor in January 2007 as a 5th-grade teacher at RES and also spent several years teaching both 4th and 3rd grades at Wayne Elementary School. She will officially begin her tenure as Assistant Principal once a full-time Assistant Principal is hired for WES, which the district is able to fully fund through the Federal Title 1 grant program.
"As a member of the WES School-Wide Positive Behavior Committee and the school’s Crisis Team, Mrs. Gillan Esposito is a perfect fit for our establishment of MTSS and to support IES and RES," Mr. Batchelor said.
