RMS Assistant Principal Moving to AP Position at Radnor High School

Ryan Buterbaugh to Take Over as Radnor High School Assistant Principal from AP Position at Radnor Middle School

Ryan Buterbaugh Mr. Ryan Buterbaugh, an Assistant Principal at Radnor Middle School since 2015, was named an Assistant Principal of Radnor High School by the RTSD School Board at its monthly meeting on May 28. Mr. Buterbaugh will replace current RHS Assistant Principal Panayota "PT" Kevgas, who will be taking over for Mr. Dan Bechtold as the RHS Principal. Mr. Bechtold is moving into the district's Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning position, replacing Dr. Maureen McQuiggan, who is retiring this summer.

"Mr. Buterbaugh will be a great compliment to our high school administrative team," Superintendent Kenneth E. Batchelor said. "His experience supporting and working with Radnor students and families will make for a smooth transition."

In addition to his assistant principal duties, Mr. Buterbaugh also supervises the K-12 World Language curriculum. He joined RTSD from Colonial School District, where he served as a social studies teacher at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School for 12 years. In this role, Buterbaugh acted as a pilot teacher for the Pennyslvania Classrooms for the Future Grant Program, a development team member for new social studies curriculum and a mentor for new teachers in the social studies department. Prior to this position, Buterbaugh was a middle school teacher at Azalea Gardens Middle School in Norfolk, VA. He earned his undergraduate degree in secondary education from University of Pittsburgh and his Masters in Education Administration from Temple University.
