As part of the 2019-20 District Goals, the Board set a district Priority Project to develop a long term RTSD facilities plan that reflects enrollment, program needs and building requirements. Following the recommendation of administration, the district took another step toward this goal when the Board approved Breslin Ridyard Fadero Architects to conduct a district-wide feasibility study at its Feb. 25 monthly business meeting. The study will include:

  • An overview of the district that considers such factors as geography and population
  • Analysis of district-wide and building-level projected enrollment
  • A complete assessment of the physical condition and mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems of our five school buildings, the Administrative Building, and the Maintenance Department
  • EPA Energy Portfolio surveys of each building
  • Estimated costs to perform any necessary repairs and upgrades at each building to meet current regulatory standards
  • With the district's help, preparation of education specifications, including a general description of the district's education program that considers functionality of typical learning spaces, technology advancements, and any special facility needs.
  • An analysis of each building’s PDE standard and functional capacities
  • An evaluation of each building’s performance as it relates to the educational program
  • Development of options that address educational program goals and enrollment changes, describing the associated advantages and disadvantages of each, as well as the needs at the Administration Building
  • An analysis of options, including construction cost estimates, phasing, and project schedule
