How much sleep does my child need?

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommend the following ranges:

  • 10-13 hours for children 3 to 5 years of age
  • 9-12 hours for children 6 to 12 years of age
  • 8-10 hours for teenagers 13 to 18 years of age
