The Reopening Radnor Task Force met for a third and final time on July 14. A special School Board meeting and work session was set for Tuesday, July 21, where the Board and administration will discuss options and recommendations for reopening. The meeting will be streamed live on YouTube. A final recommendation is scheduled to be presented and approved at the Board’s regular monthly meeting on July 28.
At the July 14 RRTF meeting held over Zoom, the task force again reviewed the RTSD Guiding Principles of Screening, Hygiene, Masking and Distancing; reviewed the feedback and questions received from the task force to date; discussed the goal of providing for safe and flexible pathways to learning based on guidance, feedback, and collaboration; and broke into balanced groups to further discuss and refine the direction and planning process.
Superintendent Ken Batchelor stressed that guidance and considerations are regularly changing and evolving, and staying on top of and responsive to these developments will make for continual refinements and adjustments, as has been the case since schools closed in March. The concept of the district developing and providing “safe and flexible pathways” for parents and students to pursue for learning was introduced and underscored. Also highlighted were instructional and logistical implications that arose during previous break-out group discussions around the RTSD guiding principles.
