2022 Summer Basket Drive

It is time for our 3rd annual Summer Basket Drive! Did you know 1 in 10 students in Radnor qualify for free/reduced lunch? Families face a heavy burden during the summer without the breakfast and lunch their children receive at school. We hope to help fill that gap for 160 RTSD families with this drive. This effort relies upon the generosity of our RTSD community! Please consider donating a basket filled with non-perishable breakfast and lunch items that kids can easily prepare themselves. It can also include touches like sunscreen, summer items and pantry staples within a laundry or wicker basket for families to keep and reuse. Please be sure the basket is able to be carried by one person and only includes non-perishable items. A completed basket may run anywhere from $50-$75.  Baskets are due by Monday, June 6, 2022.

Given the rising cost of groceries, we also hope to provide each family with $75 in grocery gift cards to help cover the cost of fresh items such as fruit and milk.

What does a basket look like? We suggest the following items in a laundry/plastic/wicker basket:

When to drop off? Baskets will be collected on Monday, June 6th from 3:00-7:00pm at the RMS bus loop. Drive through the bus loop (back of school) and we will unload your baskets and donations. Gift cards will be collected until Monday, June 6th at noon. Gift cards can be sent into any RTSD school with your child in an envelope marked “PTO Summer Baskets.”
