Thanksgiving Basket Drive

Every November the Radnor PTOs come together to distribute food baskets to our school families who could use some support in order to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal. We hope to provide baskets for 160 Radnor families with this drive.

This effort relies upon the generosity of our Radnor community! Please consider donating a basket filled with non-perishable items for a Thanksgiving meal. It can also include touches like hand towels, candles and pantry staples within a laundry or wicker basket for families to keep and reuse. A completed basket may run anywhere from $50-$75.

Given the rising cost of groceries, we also hope to provide each family with $75 in grocery gift cards to help cover the cost of a turkey and fresh items such as fruit and milk.

What does a basket look like?

Please ensure each basket has the following items:

  • Stuffing
  • Gravy
  • Pie crust
  • Coffee/tea
  • Cranberry  sauce
  • Bag/box of potatoes
  • Pumpkin pie mix
  • Cookies
  • Canned vegetables
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Cornbread mix
  • Cake/brownie mix

Holiday touches (roasting pan, paper products, candles, soup, sparkling cider) and pantry staples (rice, beans, cereal, pasta, sauce, PB&J) are also appreciated. Please be sure the basket is able to be carried by one person and only includes non-perishable items. A completed basket may run anywhere from $50-$75.

When do I drop off donated items?

Baskets will be collected on Monday, November 13, from 3-7pm at the RMS bus loop. Drive through the bus loop (back of school) and we will unload your baskets and donations.

Gift cards will be collected until Monday, November 13, at 12pm. Gift cards can be sent into any RTSD school with your child in an envelope marked “PTO Thanksgiving Baskets.”
